Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter, better called Ari Lennox, is an American music producer and vocalist from Washington, D.C., who was the first female to join J. Cole's Dreamville Records record label. On the 21st October of 2016, she released Pho the debut EP on the label Dreamville Records. The album was released when she first gained recognition. Shea Butter Baby is her debut album. It came out in May 2019. Ari Lennox posted her debut music online in 2012. She dropped five singles in 2013 and Five Finger Discount in 2013 and Ariography EP in 2013. She continued to release her music on the web including her self release single Bound. Her music was also featured on Omen's Elephant Eyes, on Sweat It Out on 21 July 2015. The following year, her music was circulating around the Dreamville group as J. Cole wanted her to join him in creating some potential references to Rihanna. In December, it was revealed 8that she was been signed to Dreamville Records. Backseat was a track she performed with Cozz in her Revenge of the Dreamers II collaboration album. Her Pho EP was released on her debut EP, on October 21st on the 21st of October in 2016. Ari Lennox then appeared as the opening performer on behalf of J. Cole on his track Change in 2017, and appeared on the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour. In 2018, she was able to perform as a guest artist on two of her songs along with label-mates EarthGang in Nothing but the Best and Bas on Icarus. On July 16, 2018, Ari Lennox released the first single, Whipped Cream on her first album Shea Butter Baby with an accompanying music video which debuted on the 5th of September. On November 9 she released two other singles, 40 Shades of Choke and Grampa. And on the 13th of November, she released two additional singles entitled No One as well as Pdigree. She performed with Cole in her Creed II Soundtrack on Shea Butter Baby On November 16and later she released the song in a solo version for her debut album. The track was accompanied by the release of a music video on February 20, 2019, which reached 3 million views on YouTube within its first seven days. In December 2018 the singer was a part of The From East Atlanta With Love Tour, which featured 6LACK.
